Our promise about The Sanctuary
What you pour out in The Sanctuary is between you and God. Whether you type or speak it, your words are never written to our database or logs. In the moment, your words — and, if you speak, your audio — are sent to OpenAI to transcribe and to select Scripture that speaks to your heart, and then they are gone, like writing in sand. We do not keep them, so we cannot read them later. This brief processing is subject to OpenAI's policies.
Who we are
The Secret Place is a digital sanctuary operated by TSP Ministries LLC (“we,” “us,” “the Ministry”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, please reach out using the contact details at the end.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you sign in, we receive your email address (through Google sign-in or an email sign-in link) and, if you choose Google, your name and profile photo. You may add or edit a display name.
- Prayer wall & community content. If you post a prayer request or pray for others, the content you submit is stored so it can be shown to the community. Treat anything you post here as visible to others.
- Supporter & payment information. If you become a Faithful Supporter, payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details — we keep only a Stripe customer reference and your subscription status.
- Study & personalization data. Things you create or choose — Scripture highlights, notes, Word cards, and background or music preferences — are saved to your account so they are there when you return.
- Usage analytics. To understand how the app is used, we record events such as which rooms are opened or that a Sanctuary prompt was submitted, together with limited metadata (for example, the length of a prompt — never its words), a session identifier, your IP address, and, if you are signed in, your account identifier. We never log the words you write.
- Device signal. We generate a semi-unique browser signal (a “fingerprint”) to estimate the number of unique viewers of live gatherings.
- Feedback you send. If you submit feedback, we keep what you wrote so we can respond and improve.
What we do not store
The text you share in The Sanctuary is never stored, as described above. We also do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising.
How we use your information
- To provide the sanctuary, prayer wall, The Word, live gatherings, and your account.
- To select Scripture in response to what you share, in the moment, without storing it.
- To process and manage Faithful Supporter subscriptions.
- To send you essential messages, such as your sign-in link or prayer notifications.
- To understand anonymous usage and keep the experience reliable and prayerful.
- To protect the Ministry and our community from abuse, and to meet legal obligations.
Services that help us operate
We rely on a small number of trusted providers, who process information only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase — secure database, sign-in, and file storage.
- Google — optional sign-in, and (when enabled) text-to-speech for reading Scripture aloud.
- Stripe — payment processing for supporters.
- OpenAI — transcribing spoken input, selecting Scripture in the moment, and reading Scripture aloud. Your input is sent to OpenAI to provide these features; we do not retain it. We keep only non-content usage metadata, such as token counts, to monitor costs.
- Resend — delivery of essential emails such as sign-in links.
- Vercel — secure hosting of the application.
- YouTube / Rumble — embedded players for live and recorded gatherings, subject to their own privacy policies.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep account and content data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and private profile data at any time from your Account page. Some records may be retained where required for legal, accounting, or anti-abuse purposes.
Children
The Secret Place is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated within the app where appropriate.
